Unlock Britain

Unlock Britain

Black business is Britain’s business.

Britain is leaving £20bn on the table.

Across the UK, more than 200,000 Black entrepreneurs are building businesses in technology, retail, law, finance, hospitality, consumer goods, the creative industries and beyond.

They are creating companies, employing people, generating wealth and contributing to national growth. But too many are being held back, not by lack of talent or ambition, but by lack of access.

Access to executive education. Access to networks. Access to capital. Access to the commercial infrastructure that helps good businesses become great ones.

This is not only a Black British issue. It is a British economic opportunity.

Project £100K

Project £100K is BBI’s national commitment to help raise the average turnover of Black-owned businesses by £100,000, from £25,000 to £125,000 by 2030.

This first milestone has the potential to unlock an estimated £20bn in additional annual turnover, creating a stronger, more inclusive and more productive British economy.

A £125,000 business can become the foundation for a £250,000 business. A £250,000 business can become the foundation for a million-pound business.

Project £100K is the commitment.
MBA 30 is how we deliver it.

The solution: MBA 30

MBA 30 is the programme at the heart of this change.

Accredited by SOAS University of London and designed for operating founders, MBA 30 gives entrepreneurs access to the executive education, investor-ready skills, peer networks and strategic tools needed to scale.

Delivered in a hybrid format across eight intensive days, the programme focuses on the capabilities that determine whether a business can grow: financial modelling, capital structuring, governance, marketing, growth execution and investor readiness.

Proven impact

BBI’s model is already working.

More than 290 entrepreneurs have completed the programme across 13 cohorts, with strong revenue growth, high business survival rates and sustained job creation across the alumni network.

Every £1 invested into MBA 30 generates approximately £13.50 of direct wealth within the UK economy.

The opportunity

By 2030, BBI’s ambition is for 4,000 entrepreneurs to go through MBA 30, with 2,000 reached by 2028.

To achieve this, BBI is building a coalition of businesses, government, universities, funders and institutional partners who can help fund access at scale.

Partners can sponsor individual entrepreneurs, support groups of founders, fund full cohorts or help deliver the programme regionally.

How you can help

Businesses, government and universities all have a role to play.

Businesses can support diverse senior talent, strengthen supplier pipelines and build meaningful relationships with high-potential founders.

Government can use MBA 30 as a proven model for productivity, business growth and regional economic development.

Universities can support delivery, regional access and measurable civic impact.

Lead. Back. Endorse. Fund.

Project £100K is the commitment to Unlock Britain.

MBA 30 is how we deliver it.

Now BBI is calling on partners to help close the gap and unlock the next generation of entrepreneurship in Britain.

Join the coalition and be part of the growth story Britain needs to tell.
